Marco Antonio Ocampo wins the I Prize Luxenter Jewelry Design

Marco Antonio Ocampo Benavides was the winner of the I Prize Luxenter Jewelry Design. The designer, with just 32 years old, submitted a project called Shanii, consisting of an original proposal with combined rings. His work has been selected by the jury from among the five designs that reached the final round, thanks to the votes received on Facebook by fans of Luxenter. As a reward, Marco Antonio Ocampo has received a contribution of 1,000 euros and the physical realization of its creation for exhibition and sale on Luxenter’s owned-stores. The jury, formed by Carmen Lizarriturri, president and founder of Luxenter Group, Arturo Pérez Fernández, a Spanish prestigious jeweler and goldsmith, Pedro Pérez, president of “DUPLEX” editorial group and Eugenio Pérez Lumbreras, founder of Lumbreras Joyeros Inc., chose this proposal among the more than 30 designs submitted. "Marco Antonio’s was the job that best cared the design and the project sheet, so he deserved to be the winner”, declared Ms. Lizarriturri. The second prize of 500 euros and, equally, the gratification of seeing his design created by Luxenter, was for Francis Rodriguez, who reached the final with the two proposals submitted for the contest: Cafe de l'Afrique and Africa & Wenge. Both winners studied at Consorcio Escuela de Joyería de Córdoba The I Prize Luxenter Jewelry Design, with participation of designers and plastic artists from different countries, that submitted original designs inspired on the African continent and on the use of natural stones, is intended to contribute to the renewal of jewelry design.
